Position Overview

This role includes a management differential added to the base salary for this classification.
Under general supervision, the IT Operations Manager oversees, directs, and coordinates the IT functions across various platforms, including enterprise, client/server, and desktop systems. Responsibilities encompass the management of technical services and operations, focusing on user requirements, systems analysis, application development, computer systems support, network architecture, and data management.


Key Responsibilities

Knowledge Required:

  • Management principles and organizational theory, including strategic planning, design, financial oversight, budget management, and project execution.
  • Supervision and leadership practices, including mentoring and training.
  • Relevant federal, state, and local regulations and compliance.
  • Operational characteristics and services of assigned IT programs.
  • Proficiency in office procedures and technology, including software applications for documentation and data management.
  • Effective communication skills, including written and verbal proficiency.
  • Public administration principles as they relate to IT management.
  • Advanced computer technology and systems development methodologies.
  • Software quality assurance and control techniques.
  • Design and maintenance of various computer operations.

Employment Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science, information systems, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
AND A minimum of three years of full-time professional experience in systems analysis, engineering, programming, database management, or related fields, including two years in a supervisory capacity.

Note: Additional relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

General Qualifications

Background checks may be conducted for candidates receiving conditional offers of employment. Candidates may be required to undergo fingerprinting and provide consent for background investigations.
A valid driver's license may be required for this position.

Working Conditions

Some roles may require working outside of standard hours and occasional travel.

Probationary Period
The probationary period for this classification is twelve (12) months.
