Job Summary

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides direct patient care services for critically ill pediatric patients aged 0-21 with acute, complex, critical, and chronic illness across various care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent decision-making in the assessment, diagnosis, and development of the plan of care for patients on the PCCM service.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians to contribute to excellence in patient care.
  • Participate in education, consultation, research, and leadership throughout the Duke Health System, organization, and profession.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP): Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Graduate of an ARC-accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's Degree or DSc preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by or recognized by the NCBON with authorization to practice as an NP.
  • Current license issued by the NCMB with authorization to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (PNP-AC)
  • PA-C
  • Experience in a pediatric acute care clinical setting strongly preferred. 2+ years of ICU nursing experience also preferred.
