Job SummaryThe Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides direct patient care services for critically ill pediatric patients aged 0-21 with acute, complex, critical, and chronic illness across various care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent decision-making in the assessment, diagnosis, and development of the plan of care for patients on the PCCM service.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians to contribute to excellence in patient care.
- Participate in education, consultation, research, and leadership throughout the Duke Health System, organization, and profession.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Nurse Practitioner (NP): Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Physician Assistant (PA): Graduate of an ARC-accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's Degree or DSc preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by or recognized by the NCBON with authorization to practice as an NP.
- Current license issued by the NCMB with authorization to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (PNP-AC)
- PA-C
- Experience in a pediatric acute care clinical setting strongly preferred. 2+ years of ICU nursing experience also preferred.
