About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a ECMO Specialist at Duke Health. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and manage extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) devices for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients
  • Monitor and interpret patient data, including hemodynamics, ECMO parameters, labs, and imaging
  • Collaborate with the care team to deliver superior patient care and troubleshoot complex issues related to ECMO procedures or technology
Requirements
  • Completion of a CoARC-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent)
  • At least two years' experience in clinical respiratory therapy, including one year in intensive care respiratory
  • ECMO experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Computer skills and experience with electronic medical record systems
  • North Carolina State Licensure required
  • Registry (RRT) by the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC), required
