Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering

The Senior Engineering Manager is tasked with overseeing all technical aspects of designated programs, which includes planning, scheduling, and managing personnel and engineering tasks to ensure seamless project coordination. This role entails monitoring engineering activities to ensure adherence to industry standards, company protocols, and client specifications. The ideal candidate will have substantial technical expertise and experience to lead larger teams or those requiring diverse skills. This position is also responsible for spearheading improvement initiatives and guiding others in these efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees larger teams or those requiring extensive expertise.
- Mentors and indirectly influences Engineering Managers while supervising a team of engineers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Independently supervises a technical group.
- Proactively leads initiatives sponsored by leadership and guides others in similar efforts.
- Manages budget, cost, and scheduling inputs for design tasks.
- Sets and achieves goals while assisting direct reports in their objectives.
- Commits to and honors commitments made.
- Drives program design to meet cost and manufacturability requirements.
- Communicates effectively (both written and verbal) with other personnel and clients as necessary.
- Participates in proposal preparation.
- Supports, communicates, reinforces, and advocates for the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
- Adheres to all quality and safety standards and expects compliance from reports.
- Supports additional projects and performs assigned duties.
- Available for travel as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree in Engineering, PE license, or MBA is preferred. A minimum of five to seven years of experience in leading Electrical Engineering teams is required.

- Proven leadership and management capabilities.
- Advanced technical knowledge.
- Ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members.
- Strong quality orientation and attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers, vendors, employees, and management at all levels.
- Proficient in standard business software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project).
