The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive professional, capable of managing and guiding teams on projects within a sophisticated automated setting. A solid background in Electrical Engineering within a manufacturing context is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate electrical operations during the construction, commissioning, and transition phases of capital projects.
  • Evaluate and create electrical schematics, including single line diagrams, grounding layouts, and motor control designs, ensuring adherence to the National Electric Code.
  • Conduct and assess necessary calculations to support electrical schematics.
  • Generate and review loop diagrams, instrument plans, and specification sheets as needed for capital projects.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineering Consultants on the comprehensive design of electrical supply and distribution systems for significant capital initiatives.
  • Draft electrical design specifications and scope documents for smaller capital projects.
  • Support the Maintenance department in establishing planned maintenance for capital projects.
  • Assist the Maintenance team in diagnosing and analyzing electrical/instrumentation issues and implementing preventive measures.
  • Review and update electrical standards as required.
  • Participate in electrical Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of equipment and field evaluations.
  • Facilitate equipment start-up processes.
  • Work with the reliability team to enhance predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to boost equipment dependability.
  • Recommend, source, and ensure the correct installation of electrical apparatus.
  • Provide training to the electrical team when knowledge gaps are identified.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code, particularly regarding electrical installations in specialized areas.
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with 480VAC distribution, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Understanding of medium voltage distribution systems.
