Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department at Blackwell Talent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing leadership and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the nursing department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures related to nursing care, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and comply with regulations.
    • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
    • Manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Patient Care Quality
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established standards and best practices.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and comply with regulations.
    • Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements as needed to enhance care quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Ensure the nursing department adheres to all state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies.
    • Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
    • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, patients, and families to address concerns and provide information.
    • Facilitate effective communication and teamwork within the nursing department and across the facility.
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Oversee the scheduling and staffing of nursing personnel to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
    • Implement and manage nursing-related technologies and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to nursing operations, including patient care, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Professional Development
    • Promote and support ongoing education and professional development for nursing staff.
    • Stay current with advancements in nursing practices and healthcare trends.
    • Encourage and facilitate a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the nursing department.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Indiana
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, including 1 year in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; in-depth knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations; proficiency in healthcare management software and tools.
