We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at G Brock Magruder MD PA. Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and recording medical history.
- Perform routine vision screening examinations, administer eye medications, and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
- Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
- Verify patient information, accurately record medical records, and maintain confidentiality.
- Counsel patients on eye care, provide instructions on medication use, and answer questions about surgery and specialty imaging.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Process prescription refill requests and maintain stock in exam rooms according to standard inventory and physician preferences.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in ophthalmology preferred.
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas through the spoken word.
- Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels.
- Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Sedentary work: Occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
- Visual Requirements: Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data.
- Environmental Conditions: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
