Ophthalmic Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Winter Park Ophthalmology. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering best-in-class ophthalmic and optometric care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and recording medical history.
- Perform routine vision screening examinations, including refraction, visual field testing, and A-Scan biometry.
- Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, maintaining a sterile field and preparing equipment as needed.
- Administer eye medications, clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments, and restock exam rooms.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records systems.
This position requires the ability to work in a clinical setting, with frequent exposure to patients and medical equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
