Job Summary:

The Ophthalmic Care Specialist will provide high-quality patient care and support to our team of ophthalmologists and optometrists. This role will involve preparing patients for examinations, performing basic vision screenings, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories, conducting vision screenings, and administering eye medications.
  • Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists with minor surgical procedures, including setting up and maintaining sterile fields.
  • Perform routine maintenance on ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
