Delivering Exceptional Eye Care

G Brock Magruder MD PA is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in all aspects of eye care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and communicating results to attending physicians.
  • Perform routine vision screening examinations, administer eye medications, and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
  • Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Process prescription refill requests, maintain stock in exam rooms, and perform set standard number of patient work-ups based on established times.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Physical Activity of Position:

  • Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, sedentary work, visual requirements, and environmental conditions.
