Ophthalmic Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at G Brock Magruder MD PA. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in all aspects of ophthalmic care delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and communicating results to attending physicians.
- Perform routine vision screening examinations, administer eye medications, and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
- Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Process prescription refill requests, maintain stock in exam rooms, and perform set standard numbers of patient work-ups based on established times.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas through the spoken word.
- Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels.
- Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Sedentary work: Occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
- Visual Requirements: Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures.
