Ophthalmic Technician

Nemours is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Winter Garden, Florida.
The successful candidate will provide individualized, age-appropriate, culturally competent, goal-directed, and family-centered care in the Ophthalmological clinic. They will complete thorough medical histories and perform ophthalmological testing and ancillary procedures within their scope of practice.
This role requires a great deal of initiative and flexibility to cope with stress and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The employee will be expected to work well independently and maintain patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately collect health care data and document appropriate information in patient records according to policy and training resources.
- Independently perform and accurately document standard ophthalmological testing/procedures within the scope of practice.
- Be responsible for professional practice and development of self and others according to scope of practice.
- Comply with and promote Nemours Standards of Behavior.
- Provide safe and effective patient/family care. Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned.
- Participate in ensuring the overall financial well-being of the Division of Ophthalmology and the Nemours Foundation.
- High School Diploma required. Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school).
- Minimum of six (5) months to one (1) year of experience required.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
- Travel will be required to satellite locations.
