Position Title: Service Sales Representative

The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively represent the Company in promoting and selling fire sprinkler services to General Contractors and end users within a designated territory. This role also involves estimating and quoting fire sprinkler systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities, with a focus on establishing and nurturing new business relationships through positive customer interactions. Responsibilities include reaching out to potential clients, qualifying leads for new construction and service work, scheduling sales appointments, and implementing marketing strategies. The successful candidate will be adept at fostering new business relationships and expanding the fire protection service sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, select, and develop new and existing customer accounts.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure satisfaction with our products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and participate in resolving customer issues promptly.
  • Provide quotes for services and follow up on any outstanding inquiries.
  • Engage with prospects to qualify potential buyers of fire protection contracts through scheduled sales calls and strategic marketing.
  • Assess customer needs and devise a sales strategy to enhance understanding of company offerings.
  • Achieve sales targets and exceed sales plan objectives.
  • Interpret blueprints and understand relevant NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective customers, general contractors, and end users.
  • Collaborate with branch personnel to ensure exceptional customer service throughout the order and delivery process.
  • Conduct customer surveys as needed.
  • Build and sustain vendor relationships.
  • Obtain necessary licenses and manufacturer certifications as required for the role.
  • Complete monthly calls as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to company processes and ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork.
  • Continuously enhance sales skills and product knowledge to maintain a professional image.
  • Read architectural and mechanical drawings to determine appropriate sprinkler placements for renovation projects.
  • Travel to customer and job sites as necessary.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • An Associate's degree in a technical or business field, or related experience in the fire suppression industry, is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in selling service contracts within the Fire Protection sector is essential.
  • Prior experience in sprinkler design, including estimating and hydraulic calculations, is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards is required.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for service and inspection is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) is essential.
