Position: Fire Protection Inspector - Pump Operations

The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct inspections of water-based fire protection systems, fire alarm systems, and fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards. Our goal is to enhance inspection revenues while ensuring profitability, meeting customer expectations, and adhering to NFPA regulations.

This role demands a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment, focusing on customer engagement, delivering quality workmanship, and possessing a thorough understanding of NFPA codes relevant to fire systems. Travel to various client locations is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of wet fire protection systems and communicate findings to clients and service managers for necessary repairs.
  • Perform NFPA 25 inspections, including weekly and monthly fire pump operations.
  • Monitor the progress and completion of assigned tasks to ensure timely execution.
  • Prepare and submit all work tickets and inspection reports promptly to administrative staff.
  • Manage self-scheduling for daily inspections effectively.
  • Promote company services to both new and existing clients.
  • Execute inspections from elevated platforms as required, reaching heights of 30 to 40 feet.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Vocational training or completion of an industry trade school is advantageous.
  • Basic mechanical skills, including troubleshooting capabilities for mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Capability to obtain necessary certifications, including NICET.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 35 pounds.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
