Position: Fire Protection Inspector - Pump Operations

The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct inspections of water-based fire protection systems, fire alarm systems, and fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards. The goal is to enhance inspection revenues while ensuring profitability, meeting client expectations, and adhering to NFPA regulations.

This role demands a proactive approach in a dynamic environment, focusing on customer relations, high-quality service delivery, and a thorough understanding of relevant NFPA codes. Travel to various client locations is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of wet fire protection systems and communicate findings to clients and service managers for necessary repairs.
  • Perform NFPA 25 inspections, including weekly and monthly fire pump operations.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Accurately complete and submit inspection reports and work tickets to administrative staff.
  • Manage self-scheduling for daily inspections.
  • Promote company services to both new and existing clients.
  • Execute inspections from elevated platforms, reaching heights of 30 to 40 feet as required.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • Completion of vocational or trade school is advantageous.
  • Basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues are necessary.
  • Experience working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Ability to obtain necessary certifications, including NICET, is required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
