Position Title: Fire Alarm Technician Trainee

This role is designed for individuals eager to develop their skills as Alarm Technicians. The selected candidate will undergo a structured training program aimed at acquiring the necessary knowledge and experience. A key requirement is to achieve the Ohio Fire Alarm license and NICET I Certification within the training period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experienced Alarm Technicians on fundamental installations.
  • Gain insights into the functionality of various devices and their correct installation procedures.
  • Participate in introductory and advanced fire alarm training courses.
  • Complete assigned training modules efficiently and professionally.
  • Learn the basics of installation, troubleshooting, and programming of both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Progress towards independent installation and servicing of fire alarm systems.
  • Attend NFPA 72 Basics code training.
  • Enhance knowledge of conventional fire alarm systems.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and program Fire Alarm, Access Control, Nurse Call, Intrusion, Sound, CCTV, and IP Video Systems.
  • Accurately document all service calls and inspections.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Provide detailed feedback to management regarding customer concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and adapt to flexible working hours as necessary.
  • Work with low voltage systems.
  • Commit to obtaining the Ohio Fire Alarm license.
  • Complete NICET level 1 certification during the final year of training.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Vocational training or industry-related education is advantageous.
  • A solid background in electronics or related fields is essential.
  • Technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new systems are required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
