Job Purpose:

Support the development and management of relationships with clients in the energy and natural resources sector, focusing on Independent Oil & Gas Majors, National Oil Companies, Oil Field Services firms, and leading commodity traders.

Collaborate with the Head of Energy & Natural Resources Coverage, product specialists, and other banking professionals to identify, propose, and implement products and services across the international network of First Abu Dhabi Bank, particularly in the US, GCC, and Egypt.

Assist in overseeing all facets of the client portfolio, including credit risk assessment, KYC/reputational risk management, client strategy formulation, and the origination of products and services.

Key Accountabilities:

Management of Client Relationships:

Create and maintain comprehensive client plans that outline cross-selling objectives across the full range of FAB's geographic and product offerings. Collaborate with product specialists to identify, originate, and implement new offerings, with a focus on trade finance, project finance, working capital solutions, cash management, and risk management. Assist in establishing client and sector appetites in coordination with internal stakeholders. Address and resolve conflicts and customer support issues as they arise.

Risk Management:

Serve as the initial line of defense for the Bank. Conduct client due diligence and reviews in accordance with established processes, maintaining ownership of client KYC documentation. Monitor and uphold the credit quality of the managed portfolio. Keep senior management informed of significant sector trends. Oversee the credit approval process, ensuring appropriate business support for all new credit extensions. Maintain client knowledge and documentation to required standards, including call reports.

Internal Collaboration and Coordination:

Identify, mobilize, and deliver the appropriate personnel, solutions, resources, and ideas to clients from across the Bank.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience

At least 5 to 7 years of customer-facing experience in the Energy and Natural Resources sector within an International Banking environment.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree; CFA and/or MBA is advantageous.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

In-depth understanding of the US Energy and Natural Resources industry landscape. Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, particularly in trade finance, commodity finance, and structured finance, along with experience in negotiating terms with clients. Proficient in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing term sheets and facility agreements. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities. Familiarity with various financing structures, including borrowing base and project/export finance. Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adaptable to change. Capacity to maintain a comprehensive view of clients while focusing on essential details. Competence in navigating complex cross-border international environments.
