Job Description

Job Purpose:

Support the development and management of relationships with clients in the energy and natural resources sector, particularly focusing on major independent oil and gas firms, national oil companies from the GCC, oilfield service providers, and leading commodity traders.

Collaborate with the US Head of Energy & Natural Resources Coverage, product specialists, and other international bankers to identify, propose, and implement financial products and services across the global network of First Abu Dhabi Bank, with an emphasis on the US, GCC, and Egypt.

Assist in overseeing all facets of the client portfolio, including credit risk oversight, KYC and reputational risk assessments, strategic client planning, and the origination of products and services.

Key Accountabilities:

Management of Client Relationships:

Create and maintain comprehensive client plans that outline cross-selling objectives across the full spectrum of FAB's geographic and product offerings. Collaborate with product specialists to identify, originate, and implement new financial products and services, particularly in trade finance, project finance, working capital solutions, cash management, and risk management. Assist in establishing client and sector appetites in conjunction with internal stakeholders. Address and resolve conflicts and customer support issues as they arise.

Risk Management:

Serve as the initial line of defense for the Bank. Conduct thorough client due diligence and reviews in accordance with established processes, ensuring ownership of client KYC documentation. Monitor and uphold the credit quality of the managed portfolio. Keep senior management informed of significant sector trends. Oversee the credit approval process, ensuring that appropriate business support is secured for all new credit extensions. Maintain comprehensive client knowledge and documentation to meet standards, including call reports.

Internal Collaboration and Coordination:

Identify, mobilize, and deliver the right resources, solutions, and ideas to clients from across the Bank.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience

At least 5 to 7 years of customer-facing experience in the energy and natural resources sector within an international banking environment.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree; CFA and/or MBA is advantageous.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

In-depth understanding of the US energy and natural resources industry landscape. Strong familiarity with corporate banking products, especially trade finance, commodity finance, and structured finance, along with experience in negotiating terms with clients. Proficient in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing term sheets and facility agreements. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities. Knowledge of various financing structures, including borrowing base and project and export finance. Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adaptable to changing circumstances. Capacity to maintain a comprehensive view of clients while paying attention to critical details. Proven ability to operate effectively in complex international environments.
