About the Role

The New Truck Sales Manager is a critical position at TEC Equipment, responsible for driving sales growth and profitability in the new truck sales department. This role requires a strong leader who can build and maintain relationships with customers, develop and execute marketing plans, and analyze financial reports to identify trends and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountability and Leadership: Take full ownership of the new truck sales department's profitability, risk management, and growth. Lead by example and empower team members to become entrepreneurs within their roles.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential customers. Travel to customer locations to anticipate their needs and introduce them to other departments or services that can benefit their business.
  • Marketing and Partnerships: Develop and execute marketing plans to position TEC New Truck Sales in the forefront. Build effective partnerships with Mack and Volvo contacts to ensure a deep understanding of their processes and facilitate timely and continuous results.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain solid communication and relationships with internal business partners. Foster a culture of teamwork and friendly competition by exemplifying TEC Equipment's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Financial Analysis and Planning: Analyze financial, payroll, and inventory reports on a weekly basis. Lead business planning for the department and demonstrate command of financials by completing monthly bridge schedules.
  • Team Development and Performance: Set visible objectives and priorities for the department. Monitor and discuss progress with the team. Create and maintain systems of accountability to measure team members' performance against set targets.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop engaged new truck sales department team members. Promote from within, encourage employee referrals, and be aware of talent within the community.
  • Professional Development: Attend training, departmental meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Stay up to date on company changes, industry trends, product updates, and technological advances. Prioritize own professional development to increase knowledge of business acumen and organizational development best practices.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the trucking industry with account management or supervisory roles. 5+ years of experience in new or used truck sales.
  • Knowledge and Skills: General knowledge of trucks (preferably Mack and Volvo) and the truck industry. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding. Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, relationship-building skills. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and computer programs (dealer management systems, customer relationship management systems, etc.).
  • Education and Certifications: Valid driver's license required. CDL Class A desired.
