  • Producing associated 2D customer approval and installation layout drawings.
  • Conducting spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways, and forklift vehicular aisles.

  • Engineering project-specific solutions for non-standard design applications.
  • Designing non-standard mechanical interfaces.
  • Applying safety regulations and ergonomic principles.
  • Specifying the necessary mechanical equipment, including both Vanderlande manufactured and third-party purchased items.
  • Creating a motor manifest in accordance with electrical and controls engineering requirements.
  • Documenting all engineering decisions through design plans, comprehensive installation files, and engineering instructions directed to site supervisors and installation subcontractors.
  • Traveling to sites as required to conduct surveys.
  • Supporting installation and commissioning both on-site and remotely.
  • Managing project documentation using a rights-based database system.
Requirements:
  • This is an entry-level position:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
    • Or Associate's ME/ET degree with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50% with occasional international opportunities.
  • Ability to conceptualize (overall system) and translate this into detailed system designs.
  • Capability to thrive in an entrepreneurial organization where teamwork and collaboration are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively understand and establish expectations for deliverables.
  • Aptitude for managing time-sensitive situations and prioritizing effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Capacity to motivate and collaborate with team members.
  • Quick assessment skills to determine appropriate actions.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset and readiness to take responsibility for project completion (Ownership Culture).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and research capabilities.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
