Job Overview

NIRA, INC. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Coordinator to support a major program at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective management and execution of contracts, and maintaining legal and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Administration: Oversee contract administration, negotiating, creating, and tracking contracts, including updating and ensuring completeness of files and closeout activities where necessary.
  • Contract Amendments and Change Orders: Coordinate contract amendments and change orders, monitor contract expiration dates and contract ceilings, labor categories, renewal of option years to meet specific project requirements.
  • Contract Records and Financial Planning: Develop and maintain contract records to include various modifications, price proposals, contract staffing, burn rate calculations, and reconciliation of records.
  • Funding and Invoicing: Review funding documents, mods, prepare funding requests, and complete necessary funding forms, request and track Purchase Requisitions (PRs), and prepare invoices payment instructions and submit them to the FAA for payment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Economics, Finance, Management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Skills: Knowledge of federal procurement regulations/policies, strong Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication skills.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a part of a team, initiative-taker who requires minimum supervision and who can effectively prioritize, execute tasks, and meet deadlines.
Desired Experience
  • FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS): Knowledge of FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), or similar procurement regulations.
  • Contracting Officer's Representative: Contracting Officer's Representative or similar certification.
  • Appropriations Law: Appropriations Law certification.

This position is a hybrid role that requires a flexible schedule, with the expectation of working one to two days per week on-site in our Washington, DC office.
