Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Specialist to join our team at the National Education Association (NEA). As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in managing the organization's contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, mitigating risks, and optimizing contract terms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire contract process, from negotiation and review to execution and maintenance.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize purchase orders and contracts for the purchase of services and products.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of contracting and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate price quotations and recommend final supplier selection.
  • Prepare and issue Request for Proposals as necessary.
  • Ensure regulatory and tax compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight years of directly related work experience involving purchasing, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Significant experience drafting, negotiating, and administering Fixed-Price, time-and-materials, and commercial contracts.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced professional team environment.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification.
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills through written and verbal communication.
  • Solid experience in management reporting and executive presentations.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate tasks.
