Responsibilities- Guest Services
- Supervise the front desk operations to ensure a high level of service and hospitality is provided to guests.
- Train, direct, and coach front desk team members to ensure a quality operation.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
- Administrative Tasks
- Complete check-in procedures for arriving guests and facilitate guest departure.
- Calculate and post monies, receipts, and guest accounts using accurate cash handling methods.
- Communication
- Courteously and accurately answer inquiries from potential guests and accept hotel reservations.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights and increase occupancy.
- Team Management
- Maintain good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions.
- Operate PBX equipment, including assisting outgoing calls and scheduling wake-up calls.
- Financial Management
- Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain responsibility for personal bank accounts.
- Education
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Experience
- 1 or more years of employment experience in a related position.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of hotel front office procedures.
- High school graduate level mathematical aptitude and knowledge of standard cash handling procedures.
- Past experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of customer service skills.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Supervision and management skills.
- Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management and guests.
- Ability to communicate in person and on telephone frequently.
- Ability to read written communiqués and analyze reports.
- Excellent speech communication skills required for continual interaction with guests.
- Excellent literacy necessary to analyze report data and prepare reports.
- Continuous standing 90% of time communicating with guests.
Prolonged standing at an indoor, thermostatically climate-controlled work station under florescent lighting.
