Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold the company's standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance in accordance with HESS protocols.
  • Prepare and consistently maintain a clean, sanitized, and welcoming stateroom experience for our guests in line with brand standards.
  • Take ownership of your designated area and assist in the development, implementation, and execution of initiatives in collaboration with the Rooms Division leadership team.
  • Anticipate and address guest needs and requests, taking responsibility for maintenance issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Consistently surpass Rooms Division-specific targets and other key performance indicators, minimizing friction points and avoiding negative surprises.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and work alongside other onboard team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Utilize consumable items, stateroom supplies, linens, and cleaning agents responsibly to avoid unnecessary waste.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in a clean and functional state, preventing misuse and excessive wear.
  • Share best practices and efficiencies with the Rooms Division leadership team and colleagues.
  • Confidently execute General Emergency Procedures and duties with urgency as directed by HESS.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and sorting waste, including bio-hazardous and sharps waste, as outlined in the Stateroom Steward Training Manual.
  • Collaborate with responsible parties to create a safe and compliant environment while fostering a commitment to Operation Oceans Alive.
  • Maintain current knowledge of public health standards and ensure compliance with all hotel-related public health policies.
  • Promptly assist in coordinating onboard resources to respond to outbreak situations requiring heightened sanitation levels.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Comprehensive understanding of public health and environmental regulations related to stateroom service.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Two years of experience in room servicing within a comparable establishment.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in the Japanese language, both verbal and written.

  • Strong foundation in customer service; ability and willingness to provide outstanding service to our guests.
  • Motivated to excel in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Personable communicator with excellent social skills and a warm, friendly demeanor.
  • Commitment to consistently display genuine care for our guests and staff, aiming to surprise and delight them throughout their cruise experience.
  • Ability to adapt to various circumstances.
