Key Responsibilities
- Consistently surpasses housekeeping-specific targets and other key performance indicators, minimizing friction points and preventing negative surprises.
- Utilizes Holland America MedallionClass products, services, and applications effectively.
- Takes ownership of consistent product delivery and accurately applies the Service Excellence philosophy.
- Ensures guest satisfaction and collaborates with fellow team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Maintains the company's standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance in accordance with HESS protocols.
- Prepares and consistently upholds a clean, sanitized, welcoming, and personalized room experience for our officers, adhering to brand standards.
- Anticipates and addresses officer needs and requests, taking ownership of maintenance issues and ensuring timely resolutions.
- Assists Stateroom Stewards with various tasks, including linen and supplies delivery, stateroom cleaning and sanitization, and transferring dirty linen or waste.
- Actively learns and remains knowledgeable to answer inquiries regarding products, policies, demographics, itineraries, and port information.
- Uses consumable items, stateroom supplies, linens, and cleaning chemicals responsibly to avoid unnecessary waste.
- Keeps assigned equipment clean and in good condition, preventing misuse and excessive wear.
- Fosters an inclusive and diverse culture, embodying our Shared Purpose, Core Values, and CRUISE service essentials.
- Shares best practices and efficiencies with the Rooms Division leadership team and colleagues.
- Embraces company updates and strategies to fulfill our guest experience commitment.
- Confidently executes General Emergency Procedures with urgency as directed by HESS.
- Follows proper procedures for handling and sorting waste, including bio-hazardous materials, as outlined in the Stateroom Steward Training Manual.
- Collaborates with responsible parties to create a safe and compliant environment while promoting Operation Oceans Alive.
- Adheres to company expectations and standards, including HESS policies.
- Maintains current knowledge of public health standards and ensures compliance with all hotel-related public health policies.
- Promptly coordinates onboard resources to address outbreak situations requiring heightened sanitation levels.
- Thorough understanding of public health and environmental requirements related to public areas.
- Must possess complete command of the English language.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable hospitality establishment, particularly in servicing guest rooms.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Fluent in Japanese.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of guest service; ability and willingness to provide outstanding service to our guests.
- Motivated to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities.
- Personable communicator with exceptional social skills and a warm, friendly demeanor.
- Ability to consistently surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience.
- Commitment to establishing and maintaining courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
