Manufacturing Operations Leader

Overview of the Role
The Manufacturing Operations Leader at Cardinal Health plays a crucial role in overseeing the planning and coordination of all plant operations. This includes production, safety, engineering, planning, continuous improvement, and quality assurance in the manufacturing of medical device products.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor operational performance to ensure alignment with financial targets and implement adjustments as necessary.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives and projects to enhance operational efficiency.
- Foster strong relationships with the plant workforce to proactively address and resolve issues.
- Provide clear guidance, training, and support to team members.
- Maintain accountability for timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality output.
- Collaborate with Engineering to optimize manufacturing processes and resource utilization.
- Direct priorities and resource allocation to meet overall operational goals.
- Develop and mentor direct reports, conducting performance evaluations and career development planning.
- Ensure compliance with all federal safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Implement quality management practices in partnership with quality leadership.
- Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Align manufacturing strategies with the broader objectives of the plant.
- Engage with other plant leaders to share best practices and stay informed on industry trends.
- Participate in Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) initiatives, including root cause analysis and inspections.
- Adhere to all relevant standards and policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing, ideally within a regulated medical environment.
- Proven track record in managing teams and achieving operational results.
- Excellent communication skills and financial acumen.
- Ability to influence and gain consensus among diverse stakeholders.
