POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Supervisor and Line Lead, the Equipment Operator executes tasks in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Standards, and the facility's Food Safety Plan.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment Operators must comprehend and adhere to all safety, health, quality, Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Company policies and procedures.
  • Understand the purpose and operate all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices correctly.
  • Maintain the work area to meet acceptable safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Regularly check product and case codes for accuracy and legibility, ensuring timely and accurate package changeovers.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues with equipment.
  • Follow escalation protocols promptly when troubleshooting efforts are unsuccessful.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance when escalation to maintenance support is required for mechanical issues.
  • Complete and file all necessary quality and packaging documentation in an organized and timely manner.
  • Inform the lead and supervisor of any significant issues or inquiries, including Quality or Food Safety concerns.
  • Communicate processing information to designated personnel on the incoming shift.
  • Regularly interact with upstream and downstream operators to optimize line performance and ensure product integrity.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping of filling equipment.

Assist with light maintenance tasks on related production equipment.

Execute any other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic math and writing skills are required.

Ability to stand for extended periods (8 to 12 hours).

Capability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Ability to follow directions effectively.

Must work well with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Basic mechanical knowledge is essential.

Forklift operation skills are advantageous.

Ability to read and write basic English is necessary.
