Production Supervisor/Lead Person
JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Supervisor and Line Lead, the Equipment Operator executes tasks in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Standards, and the facility's Food Safety Plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment Operators are required to comprehend and adhere to all established safety, health, quality, Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
- Understand the function and follow the correct operation of all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices.
- Maintain the work area to acceptable safety and cleanliness standards.
- Regularly check product and case codes for accuracy and clarity, ensuring timely and precise package changeovers.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues with equipment.
- Follow escalation protocols promptly when troubleshooting efforts are unsuccessful.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance personnel when escalation to maintenance support is necessary for mechanical issues.
- Complete and file all required quality and packaging documentation in an organized and timely manner.
- Notify the lead and supervisor of any significant issues or inquiries, including Quality or Food Safety concerns.
- Communicate processing information to designated personnel on the incoming shift.
- Regularly interact with upstream and downstream operators to optimize line performance and ensure product integrity.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
These may include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning and maintaining filling equipment.
- Performing light maintenance tasks on related production equipment.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by your Supervisor or Lead.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic math and writing skills are required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, ranging from 8 to 12 hours.
- Capability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to follow directions accurately.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Forklift operation skills are advantageous.
- Ability to read and write basic English.
