Job Summary

The Property Accounting Manager is a key member of the Valiant Residential team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. This role requires a strong background in accounting and property management, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Financial Accountants to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee the completion of monthly financial closing deadlines and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review and approve financial packages prepared by Financial Accountants.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party clients and facilitate communication between the operations and accounting departments.
  • Process weekly property payables and initiate bank wires/ACHs as necessary.
  • Assist in the budgeting process and lead the onboarding/offboarding of new properties/clients.
  • Oversee property taxes and insurance payments, and coordinate the completion of year-end financial packages for tax reporting purposes.
  • Fulfill audit requests and recommend process improvements to enhance financial operations.
  • Hire and train Financial Accountants to ensure a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in a business environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties.
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented background and mentality.
  • Ability to operate office machinery and lift up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in property management and accounting.
