Role Overview:
The Technical Sales Specialist for Elastomers & Plastics serves as a key technical advisor. Your mission will be to secure new business opportunities for specialty additives, focusing primarily on the elastomers sector. You will have the chance to engage with diverse markets and industry segments, achieving sales objectives through both consultative and proactive strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct targeted sales initiatives through direct outreach, engaging with project specifiers and technical/R&D teams to identify, evaluate, and enhance product value propositions.
  • Develop customer-centric solutions by clearly defining objectives, assessing environments, allocating resources, and crafting strategic plans.
  • Anticipate and address potential risks related to customer and supplier requirements, ensuring effective solutions are in place.
  • Facilitate Product Line expansion by guiding sales opportunities through the complete sales cycle, providing necessary technical support post-transition to Account Representatives.

Technical Proficiency Development:
Collaborate closely with customers, technical suppliers, and Product Managers to enhance your technical expertise. You will also:

  • Design and deliver training sessions on products and industry specifics, equipping sales representatives with the knowledge needed for effective application development.
  • Assist sales teams during technical discussions to support product recommendations and application strategies.
  • Contribute to campaign strategy formulation by developing and refining marketing materials.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science or a Technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience; a focus on Polymer or Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant sales or industry experience.
  • Proficient in PC and Windows OS, with a solid understanding of MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of specific products and industry segments, with a capacity for rapid learning.
  • Understanding of technical product applications, usage, and chemical processes.

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is competitive, with specific compensation influenced by factors such as experience, education, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for incentive pay.
