Business Development Role Overview

The Business Development Representative at American Family Insurance Jeff Williams Agency is responsible for marketing, prospecting, and selling insurance products in all product lines. This role requires maintaining effective customer relationships, understanding customers' needs, and matching them with appropriate product and service offerings. The successful candidate will promote brand awareness through participation in agency and community events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops knowledge of the local market dynamics for business development opportunities in all product lines
  • Helps the Agency grow by using consultative selling techniques to sell insurance products to new customers
  • Proactively cross-sells and coordinates with agency team members to provide additional coverage to existing customers
  • Secures new business through individual effort and established lead methods
  • Prepares quotations and applications and delivers effective presentations to close sales

Requirements

  • Job contingent based on Property & Casualty licensed obtained ahead of first day of employment
  • Ability to work independently to plan, set priorities, and organize work
  • Active involvement in the local community and networking
  • Demonstrated sales and customer service experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Experience with PC software applications (Microsoft Office Suites, Internet Explorer, etc.)

This position is an Agency Team Member working for the Agency Owner and is not an employee of American Family Insurance.
