Chief Human Resources Director

The Los Angeles Unified School District is seeking a highly qualified Chief Human Resources Director to join its team. As a key member of the district's leadership, this individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, selection, classification, examinations, certification, contracting, processing assignment, salary administration, staff relations, employee records, certificated evaluation, and other personnel services.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time, 12-month management position that requires a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex human resources functions in large organizations and possess a deep understanding of educational settings and labor laws.
Responsibilities- Directs and reviews the administration of the Human Resources Division through managers and staff personnel engaged in various human resources activities.
- Develops and implements effective recruitment and selection strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Collaborates with departmental administrators to develop policies and procedures related to classification, compensation, rules/policy development, and collective bargaining.
- Analyzes and evaluates proposed legislation concerning recruitment, selection, assignment, certification, classification, compensation, and related personnel functions.
- Implements technology solutions for certificated human resources operations and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree preferred.
- No less than five years of experience as a human resources executive, manager, or administrator in a large public or private employer, or equivalent experience in education.
- Strong professional human resources experience with a focus on certificated recruitment, selection, and employee processing.
- Experience working effectively with labor partners and resolving employee grievances in alignment with district goals.
$172,276 - $213,510 annually.
