Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Procurement Analyst for Resins is responsible for managing and enhancing designated spending categories. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team across sourcing, operations, technical, finance, and other essential functions to prioritize sourcing initiatives, formulate sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, facilitate the transition from incumbent to preferred suppliers, and manage relationships with preferred suppliers.

Daily Activities:

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Execute global category initiatives to achieve key performance indicators, including savings, supplier consolidation, low-cost region sourcing, risk management, spend under agreement, joint innovation, and supplier performance.
  • Assist in implementing global sourcing strategies aimed at identifying and contracting with preferred suppliers that align with critical business needs and category management objectives.

Technical Duties:

  • Monitor market trends and intelligence, evaluate impacts, and refine category plans to meet business requirements.
  • Engage with division/site procurement teams and other key stakeholders to qualify preferred suppliers and transition spend from non-preferred suppliers.
  • Analyze supplier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and establish continuous enhancement goals.
  • Facilitate supplier business reviews to ensure compliance with agreement terms, including performance standards and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Assess cost and risk implications when developing contracts.
  • Lead negotiations for global agreements in alignment with category strategies.

Leadership Duties:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (quality, technical, operations, finance, etc.) to ensure alignment of all category sourcing activities with common goals and priorities.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related technical field; a Master's degree is preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational organizations, with strong engagement in category/business.
  • Successful completion of a Thermo Fisher Leadership Development Program is an advantage.
  • Ability to discern and assess market/business dynamics and negotiate agreements that deliver substantial business value.
  • Experience in highly regulated sectors.
  • Proven track record in a continuous improvement environment with significant year-over-year results.
  • Demonstrated consultative and collaborative approach in sourcing activities.
  • Ability to influence without authority to motivate and manage cross-functional teams across multiple regions.
  • CPSM or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain is advantageous.
  • Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceutical sectors is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 25% to 50% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits Overview

The estimated salary range for this position is competitive, and it may also include a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance in accordance with company policy. Our comprehensive Total Rewards package includes:
