Position Overview:

As a key member of the HR team, you will deliver comprehensive human resources support to our Distribution Facility, focusing on the implementation of corporate and local policies, HR systems, and fostering positive labor and employee relations. You will also provide essential administrative assistance to the HR Manager and take charge in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees; monitor related metrics; manage employee records in Success Factors.
  • Implement relevant provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and provide guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers as necessary.
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring process for union positions; advertise job openings, evaluate resumes, coordinate interviews, draft offer letters, and manage the onboarding process, including conducting new hire orientations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and follow up on daily employee inquiries.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with temporary staffing agencies.
  • Administer FMLA and Disability support services.
  • Organize and manage employee recognition events.
  • Track attendance, vacation, personal days, and leaves, as well as maintain records of interview processes.
  • Generate monthly reports on absenteeism, headcount, and turnover rates.
  • Assist employees during Benefit open enrollment and wellness initiatives.
  • Prepare and disseminate weekly announcements to the workforce.
  • Undertake additional projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in human resources.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and practices is essential.
  • Experience collaborating with labor unions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Success Factors and E-time is a plus.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse workforce with sensitivity and tact, demonstrating conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Capacity to take initiative, prioritize tasks, learn swiftly, and manage assigned projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of interpreting data, identifying trends, and formulating actionable recommendations.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in record-keeping and handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
