Employee Relations Specialist

This role as an Employee Relations Specialist is pivotal in both operational and strategic dimensions, aimed at enhancing workforce engagement and professional growth. Positioned within substantial distribution centers or densely populated regions, this position is characterized by a high level of interaction and a customer-centric approach, necessitating close collaboration with operational teams to support our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to implement HR strategies focused on workforce engagement and retention.
- Provide HR support to leadership on daily operational issues and broader initiatives, including training and development.
- Act as a liaison between Employee Relations and management, offering guidance on HR matters.
- Assist managers with hiring, termination, and employee data management, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Facilitate effective onboarding and training for new hires.
- Promote the adoption of HR technologies at the location.
- Conduct proactive employee engagement activities, such as surveys and one-on-one meetings.
- Lead employee relations initiatives, including coaching and support during investigations.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decisions that enhance organizational processes.
- Coordinate with agency partners and local educational institutions for recruitment events.
- Work with operations to develop innovative solutions for improving employee retention.
- Collaborate with recruiting teams to ensure timely hiring of top talent.
- Support the development of staffing plans based on workforce analytics.
- Coordinate training programs for leadership development.
- Assist in implementing labor relations strategies and support union negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, and maintain legislative compliance.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Exceptional consulting and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Basic understanding of federal and state employment laws.
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in HR functions such as employee relations, talent acquisition, and organizational development.
