Key Responsibilities
  • HR Strategy Execution: Collaborate with HRBP to execute and implement HR strategy for the location, focusing on employee engagement and retention.
  • HR Support: Provide HR support to location leadership on day-to-day issues and larger initiatives, including training, coaching, and development topics.
  • Employee Relations: Work as an intermediary with HRES/Employee Relations and location management on recommendations and guidance regarding HR matters, including submitting tickets into MyRyder when needed.
  • Employee Onboarding: Ensure all new employees are effectively onboarded and trained.
  • HR Technology Adoption: Champion HR technology adoption at the location (Workday/MyRyder).
  • Employee Relations Activities: Conduct proactive employee relations by various means, including pulse surveys, 1:1s, etc.
  • Employee Relations Investigations: Lead employee relations activities, including coaching and some support during investigations.
  • Workforce Analytics: Utilize analytics, expertise, and workforce trends to influence decisions that drive and improve organizational processes and programs.
  • Agency Partnerships: Work with agency partners, as needed.
  • Hiring Events: Run a hiring event and partner with local schools, as needed.
  • Employee Retention: Work with the operations team to identify, create, and implement innovative solutions to improve employee retention.
  • Staffing Planning: Collaborate with the recruiting team to ensure we fill roles in a timely manner, with the best talent possible.
  • Development Programs: Coordinate development programs, such as FLP and LMT.
  • Manager Support: Support HRBP in providing managers with the tools and training to optimize their performance.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Labor Relations: Partner with Labor Relations team to implement components of the labor strategy, including conducting risk assessments, facilitating positive employee relations training, and drafting action plans to address concerns.
  • Union Negotiations: Support Labor Relations team and HRBP on priorities for successful union negotiations, prepare and contribute key HR data to ensure successful outcomes within the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Grievance Resolution: As applicable, collaborate with Business Agents to resolve grievances and other local matters.
  • Policies and Procedures: Communicate, interpret, and consistently apply policies and procedures.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Human Resource processes, including audit completion of compliance training.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field, or additional four (4) years of required experience.
  • Experience: Three (3) years or more experience and exposure to HR areas such as organizational development, employee relations, talent acquisition, learning & development, and compensation.
  • Workday Experience: Workday experience beginner preferred.
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws: Basic knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws beginner required.
