Job Overview

The Assistant Community Manager plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to residents and prospective tenants while supporting the Community Manager in overseeing the property. This position involves managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records for the apartment community, as well as generating correspondence related to resident accounts and tenancy issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely posting of rent in compliance with established policies.
  • Inputting daily rental data accurately.
  • Managing lease agreements for move-ins and move-outs.
  • Conducting inventory checks.
  • Posting SODAs as required.
  • Providing daily updates on unit status.
  • Completing end-of-month financial responsibilities.
  • Processing rent increase entries.
  • Maintaining the residential delinquency report.
  • Retrieving and distributing emails efficiently.
  • Organizing and maintaining filing systems.
  • Ensuring a professional and tidy work environment.
  • Responding to leasing inquiries via phone and email.
  • Marketing and promoting the apartment community to lease units.
  • Accurate and timely data entry into Yardi.
  • Posting daily advertisements on platforms like Craigslist.
  • Compiling lease paperwork and associated documents in line with company policies.
  • Reviewing lease agreements and related documents for new residents.
  • Preparing routine reports and sharing insights with the management team.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure all data is entered into Yardi by the end of each business day.
  • Providing customer service that aligns with company values and standards.
  • Addressing resident concerns and escalating to the Community Manager when necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Background in bookkeeping or basic accounting.
  • Preferred experience in property accounting.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some college education or a degree is preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Yardi is preferred.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
