Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Imaging Department as a Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, including Diagnostic Radiology, Mammography, CT, Ultrasound, Radiology Nursing, and MRI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide managerial oversight and effective leadership to ensure staffing plans meet patient care needs, staff training and education, equipment functioning, and the implementation of new technology initiatives.
  • Direct supervision of all Imaging staff, including receptionists, technologists, radiology nurses, and clerical support staff.
  • Operate all radiographic equipment according to equipment specifications and produce quality radiographs consistently within department standards.
  • Ensure compliance with daily requirements for ACR, MQSA, and FDA accreditation for Mammography and ACR accreditation for MRI, US, and CT.
  • Resolve customer/patient/staff conflicts, complaints, and concerns, and contact the patient experience coordinator as necessary.
  • Maintain desired results in Patient Satisfaction Survey.
  • Work closely with radiologists to ensure timely report turnaround and address other physician issues related to patient care.
  • Ensure staff follow good radiation safety practices, including coning, shielding, film badge monitoring, according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Responsible for patient flow, maintaining and posting daily work schedules, and coordinating the flow of patients with multiple exams to meet productivity standards and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Manage Time and attendance for imaging center staff, including approving vacations, maintaining holiday schedules, and ensuring 24/7 coverage, including holidays.
  • Ensure staff compliance in accurately and completely utilizing information systems according to department standards.
  • Monitor information systems continuously for outstanding or incomplete orders, evaluate folder lists, and assist each modality in obtaining necessary files and assure prompt handling of "call reports," "send films," "stat reads," etc.
  • Complete designated employee evaluations promptly and submit to Operations Manager for review.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain high-level contact with PASC Manager/Director to streamline front-end operations of scheduling and registration at the Imaging Centers.
  • Routinely monitor daily patient flow and throughput to ensure efficiency for all areas.
  • Work with Radiologists on efficient process of throughput, results reporting, and reports issues to Director.
  • Create monitoring tools for all aspects of the outpatient process.
  • Develop immediate action plans to be discussed and approved for any area out of department goal.
  • Routinely monitor wait times by modality, no-show patients, rescheduled patients, and add-on patients.
  • Provide management with routine reports and create action plans for areas that are out of compliance or unable to accommodate.
  • Maintain high-level customer service and patient satisfaction.
  • Responsible for complete review of patient satisfaction survey.
  • Create action plans for areas needing improvements.
  • Monitor and report success to management team.
  • Provide routine manager rounding with all staff and physicians to identify barriers to exceptional customer service or providing exceptional care.
  • Closely monitor staff productivity daily and fluctuate staff schedules as needed.
  • Work with Radiologists and all site supervisors to review clinical protocols and service practices for all outpatient procedures within NGHS.
  • Assure all equipment is in good working condition and properly maintained.
  • Assure all radiation safety practices are maintained by staff and physicians, and meet TJC guidelines.
  • Communicate routinely with physicians, office managers, and staff on scheduling or any other area of concern.
  • Responsible for outpatient services complaints and concerns.
  • Resolve all complaints and recommend changes in process to eliminate problem areas.
  • Assure monthly staff meetings are held to communicate administrative and departmental information.
  • Mentor site supervisors and lead staff to further develop leadership skills and implement business objectives.
  • Participate in constant DNV readiness process for Imaging Service.
  • Assure staff complete annual skills and physicals on time.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining productivity standards as defined by department.
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of Visual management boards as well as leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead Quest Management Systems for Imaging Department of NGMC.
