About the Role:Job Summary
Under the supervision of a Radiologist and Supervisor, the CT Imaging Technologist performs CT and X-ray examinations at a technical level that does not require constant oversight of technical details. This role involves executing a variety of technical procedures that necessitate independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. The position includes the use of contrast agents and a comprehensive understanding of appropriate techniques for certain invasive procedures. The technologist is responsible for designated procedural areas, with care extending to patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.

- Proficient in performing quality CT and X-ray procedures and venipuncture
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with team members
- Basic computer proficiency
- Operate CT and X-ray machinery according to equipment specifications (i.e., operator's console, work station, injector, reformatting, teleradiology). Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Follow radiation safety practices, including coning, shielding, and film badge monitoring, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Consistently produce high-quality images within established protocols. Maintain processors, diagnose processing issues, and take appropriate corrective actions. Keep patient records in line with departmental procedures. Understand the proper use of contrast media (venipuncture, injector, consent forms, type, quantity, complications). Accurately assess patients based on the exams ordered, ensuring appropriate documentation (i.e., check order, review previous films, check lab values when indicated, prep, screen for possible pregnancy, appropriate history, coordinate with Imaging nurse as necessary). Provide relevant patient education regarding the exam being performed and document it in the patient record. Ensure compliance with RIS standards as per departmental guidelines (i.e., order, arrive, start, complete, cancel, record complications, IV infiltrate documentation, drug history, repeats, complaints, and transfers). Meet productivity benchmarks set by the department. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

- Perform non-technical duties as assigned (i.e., stock rooms, transport patients, clean cassettes).
