Role Summary:

The Field Service Engineering Specialist for Electric Actuation & Digital Products serves as a vital link between our customers and the Flowserve digital products and automation engineering team. This role involves supporting electric actuation tasks for all digital offerings, ensuring seamless interaction with third-party control systems. The engineer will engage in servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning customer network setups, demonstrating a robust understanding of various network protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and Profibus, as well as connectivity with systems from industry leaders like ABB, Emerson, and Siemens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage technical expertise and relationship-building skills to implement global strategies aimed at enhancing profitability within the Service and Solutions Group.
  • Conduct service activities utilizing diagnostics to troubleshoot and analyze compatibility issues between Flowserve digital products and customer control systems.
  • Provide training to end users and internal support personnel on network troubleshooting and commissioning, acting as a mentor to enhance collective expertise.
  • Assist customers in conceptualizing new applications and upgrading from outdated technologies across various industries.
  • Deliver technical assistance and recommendations regarding digital network interoperability with host control systems.
  • Engage in pre-sales support by providing insights on digital control applications and assisting with technical clarifications on key projects.
  • Communicate directly with customers to ensure their feedback is relayed to product management, fostering a customer-centric approach.
  • Promote a culture of safety to minimize workplace injuries and maintain a secure working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in Industrial Networks.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in technical problem-solving within systems and networks, including integration of actuation, valves, and instruments.
  • Proven experience in industrial digital communication and device commissioning.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential for effective communication.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics in process control and the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instrumentation, process control, and digital communication protocols.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with wireless communication in industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with major electric actuation competitors is advantageous.
