Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer who has a passion for helping our customers find innovative solutions, leading and developing teams and individuals, and making a positive impact on others.

The Electrical Controls Engineer will report to the Director of Control Systems Integration, and provide complete project execution from system layout concept through to commissioning.

Responsibilities
  1. Utilize AutoCAD for electrical schematic and hardware design
  2. Program PLCs, primarily utilizing Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems
  3. Develop HMI applications using Allen-Bradley PanelView+ and FactoryTalk View
  4. Servo and motion control programming
  5. Program and configure VFDs, optimizing machinery operation and energy efficiency
  6. Develop, prepare and maintain program documentation in areas related to diagnostics, information systems, data collection and communication with other peripheral equipment
  7. Manage personal schedule of responsibilities across multiple projects, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely completion and effective communication throughout the process
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions; participate on team to analyze control system malfunctions; make recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations
  9. Travel to customer sites and other business locations, estimated at 35% of working time, to support project implementation and client interactions
Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation/Controls, or a related technical field
  2. 0-2+ years of experience in controls engineering or a related field (may be internship or rotational program experience)
  3. Proficiency in a common PLC platform and its programming language (e.g., Rockwell Automation and Ladder Logic)
  4. Understanding of electrical components (motors, sensors, actuators)
  5. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  6. Capability to travel up to 35% of the time to client sites and other business locations
