Position Overview

AECOM is looking for experienced Senior Civil Engineers to join our expanding practice in Northern California, specifically in our Oakland office within the Buildings + Places division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage various project tasks, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop technical concepts and designs while preparing comprehensive documentation, including reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Engage in diverse projects such as healthcare facilities, federal projects, educational institutions, and infrastructure developments.
  • Lead the planning, design, evaluation, and review processes to support project execution.
  • Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.
  • Gather and analyze engineering data using established procedures to inform project decisions.
  • Address complex engineering challenges with minimal supervision, applying innovative solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, promoting professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary and scheduling constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines, making informed decisions aligned with organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven experience in site/civil design projects.
  • Proficient in preparing calculations and design documentation.
  • Valid US Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in California or eligibility to register for the PE exam within one year.
  • 8+ years of experience in civil engineering and building development projects.
  • Experience with permitting for site/land development projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Experience in large-scale and complex projects.
  • Familiarity with construction phase services for site/civil projects.

Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is preferred. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
