Position Summary: We are in search of a highly qualified Fuel Economy Engineer to become a vital part of our Vehicle Homologation & Compliance division. This role is crucial for overseeing fuel economy certification initiatives, which are essential for managing the complexities associated with advanced product features. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in pioneering projects within a vibrant and forward-thinking organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Formulate and uphold detailed project work plans, providing regular updates to guarantee smooth project execution.
  • Prototype Coordination: Collaborate with partners to oversee prototype vehicle and component requirements and their availability.
  • Instrumentation Support: Ensure effective communication and confirmation of vehicle instrumentation needs.
  • Mileage Break-In: Work with teams to implement vehicle mileage break-in procedures.

Fuel Economy Testing:

  • Generate test requests
  • Analyze test data
  • Coordinate vehicle updates, software reflashes, and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Provide support for cross-functional meetings
  • Supervise catalyst bench aging

Regulatory Compliance: Compile and submit testing and supporting documentation to regulatory bodies as required.


EPA Testing Support: Assist with any confirmatory testing as mandated by regulatory agencies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or a related discipline).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive sector, particularly in fuel economy testing and vehicle homologation.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations (US, EU, China) related to vehicle fuel economy and emissions testing.
  • Proficient in project management and data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
