Position Summary: We are looking for a proficient Fuel Economy Engineer to become a vital part of our Vehicle Homologation & Compliance team. This role is crucial for overseeing fuel economy certification initiatives, addressing the complexities that arise from evolving product demands. This position offers an exciting chance to engage in pioneering projects within a vibrant and forward-thinking organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Create and uphold detailed project work plans, ensuring regular updates to facilitate smooth project progression.
  • Prototype Management: Work collaboratively with partners to oversee prototype vehicle and component needs and their availability.
  • Instrumentation Coordination: Ensure effective communication regarding vehicle instrumentation necessities.
  • Mileage Break-In Management: Collaborate with teams to implement vehicle mileage break-in procedures.

Fuel Economy Evaluation:

  • Generate testing requests
  • Analyze testing outcomes
  • Coordinate vehicle modifications, software updates, and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Support cross-functional meetings
  • Supervise catalyst bench aging processes

Regulatory Adherence: Compile and submit testing and supporting documents to regulatory bodies as required.


Testing Support: Assist with confirmatory testing as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or a related discipline).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive sector, particularly in fuel economy assessment and vehicle homologation.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and regulations (US, EU, China) concerning vehicle fuel economy and emissions testing.
  • Expertise in project management and data interpretation.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to foster relationships with internal teams and external collaborators.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work autonomously and juggle multiple projects concurrently.
