Position Summary: We are in search of a proficient Fuel Economy Engineer to become a vital part of our Vehicle Homologation & Compliance division. This role entails primary responsibility for orchestrating fuel economy certification initiatives, crucial for addressing the complexities arising from advanced product features. This position offers a remarkable opportunity to engage in pioneering projects within a fast-paced and forward-thinking organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Formulate and sustain detailed project work plans, including routine progress updates to guarantee smooth project execution.
  • Prototype Management: Collaborate with partners to oversee prototype vehicle and component requirements and their availability.
  • Instrumentation Oversight: Ensure effective communication and confirmation of vehicle instrumentation needs.
  • Mileage Procedures: Coordinate with relevant teams to implement vehicle mileage break-in protocols.

Fuel Economy Evaluation:

  • Generate and manage test requests
  • Analyze and interpret test data
  • Coordinate vehicle modifications, software updates, and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Provide support for cross-functional meetings
  • Supervise catalyst bench aging processes

Regulatory Adherence: Compile and submit testing and supporting documentation to regulatory bodies as mandated.


EPA Testing Assistance: Support any confirmatory testing required by the EPA.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or a related discipline).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive sector, specifically in fuel economy testing and vehicle homologation.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and regulations (US, EU, China) pertaining to vehicle fuel economy and emissions testing.
  • Expertise in project management and data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to cultivate relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
