Position Overview
The Digital Learning Librarian will collaborate with a dedicated library team to enhance educational experiences at a private institution focused on historically marginalized communities.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative, engaged, and student-oriented librarian dedicated to both in-person and digital instructional methodologies, fostering strong connections with students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities
The Digital Learning Librarian will primarily concentrate on delivering information literacy training to first-year and transfer students, while partnering with faculty and campus stakeholders to bolster the institution's commitment to undergraduate research and career preparation.


This role involves working closely with fellow librarians to establish collaborative relationships with faculty, developing and implementing services that support the institution's educational, research, and learning initiatives.

The successful candidate will be adept at providing instruction in various formats, including face-to-face, blended learning environments, and fully online settings.

Innovative Learning Spaces
The Digital Learning Librarian will spearhead efforts to transform the library into a more dynamic and collaborative learning environment, integrating technology, Maker spaces, and team-based projects.

This position will also focus on reimagining these spaces to enhance engagement with faculty, students, and community members, organizing library events, and promoting library services.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Library Information Science or a related field from an accredited institution, with specialized coursework in information literacy and technology.
Proficient understanding of information literacy teaching methodologies.
Experience leveraging technology and creativity to improve information literacy instruction delivery.
Familiarity with digital tools and resources, including Springshare's LibApps products and discovery tools.
Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, students, and staff within a diverse research community.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of library resources, databases, and current best practices.
Enthusiasm for ongoing learning and adaptation to new library innovations.
Demonstrated capacity to learn and utilize emerging technologies and digital trends.
Experience or interest in library outreach and promotional initiatives.
Familiarity with educational technology planning, execution, and evaluation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online meeting platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Experience with content management systems such as OneDrive and Dropbox.
Exceptional customer service abilities.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with project management tools like Asana, Trello, or Slack.
Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas.
Knowledge of 3D printing technology, podcasts, and Maker spaces.
Experience in grant writing and management.
Prior experience in an academic library setting.
Ability to learn and utilize common library technologies and research tools (e.g., OCLC, LibGuides, Ex-Libris Alma, Zotero, etc.).
