Position Summary
We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst. This role is crucial for overseeing and sustaining the electronic data exchange between our organization and its business associates. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of EDI protocols, standards, and processes, along with exceptional analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise. Beyond EDI integrations, this position may involve assisting with various integration types, including flat file, FTP, and API integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate onboarding of new trading partners, manage EDI testing, and address any data exchange issues.
- Monitor EDI transactions, swiftly identifying and rectifying errors or discrepancies to maintain seamless information flow.
- Develop and sustain EDI maps, including translation rules and processes, to enhance electronic data exchange.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather and analyze business requirements, ensuring adherence to EDI protocols.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to EDI processes, including mapping specifications and trading partner profiles.
- Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in EDI protocols, recommending enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
- Work with technical teams to integrate EDI systems with internal platforms, ensuring consistent data flow.
- Provide training and support to internal users regarding EDI processes and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with EDI guidelines, focusing on data accuracy and security.
Required Skills and Experience
- In-depth knowledge of EDI protocols and standards, including ANSI X12, XML, and AS2.
- Proficiency in EDI mapping and translation tools, such as Boomi or similar software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in data communication and system integration.
- Solid understanding of business processes, especially within supply chain, logistics, or retail sectors.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring data integrity while managing large data volumes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation tools.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience in the logistics or transportation industry, particularly in trucking or port operations.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Experience with scripting languages for EDI process automation.
- Certification in EDI or related fields is advantageous.
- Capability to write SQL scripts for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with enterprise middleware tools.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Agile project management and SCRUM methodologies is a plus.
