This role emphasizes providing information literacy training to first-year and transfer undergraduate students, while also partnering with faculty and campus stakeholders to enhance the university's focus on undergraduate research and career preparedness.
The Digital Learning Librarian will work in conjunction with fellow librarians to foster collaborations with faculty, developing and delivering services that bolster the university's teaching, learning, and research objectives.
The successful candidate will be adept at delivering content in various formats, including in-person, blended learning environments, and fully online settings.
Additionally, the Digital Learning Librarian will spearhead the library's evolution into a more innovative and collaborative educational space, integrating technology, Maker spaces, and team-based projects.
This role will involve reimagining these spaces and proposing initiatives to enhance engagement with faculty, students, and community members, as well as planning library events and promoting library services.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in Library Information Science or a related field from an accredited institution, with a focus on information literacy and technology.
- Proficiency in information literacy teaching methodologies.
- Experience leveraging technology and creativity to improve information literacy instruction delivery.
- Familiarity with Springshare's LibApps products and discovery tools.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, students, and staff in a diverse and inclusive research environment.
- Strong teaching skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of library resources, databases, current trends, and best practices.
- Enthusiasm for ongoing learning and library innovations.
- Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and emerging digital trends.
- Capability to engage in library outreach and marketing efforts.
- Experience or interest in educational technology planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and online meeting platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Familiarity with content management systems such as OneDrive and Dropbox.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with project management tools like Asana, Trello, Microsoft Projects, or Slack.
- Familiarity with Canvas and other learning management systems.
- Knowledge of 3D printing technology, podcasts, and Maker spaces.
- Experience in grant writing and management.
- Background in an academic library setting.
- Familiarity with common library technologies, systems, or research tools (e.g., OCLC, LibGuides, Ex-Libris Alma, Zotero, etc.).
