Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Accounting Specialist to enhance our financial operations within the manufacturing sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective cost management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Oversight: Supervise all accounting practices, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and manage the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, along with comprehensive financial reports.
  • Accounting Functions: Execute various accounting tasks including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, and journal entry reviews.
  • Financial Statements: Responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including cash flow management.
  • Cost Management: Allocate fixed assets and manage cost accounting processes effectively.
  • Business Intelligence: Engage in BI reporting and manage Sage A/R imports and cash applications.
  • Cost Accounting System: Maintain and update the Cost Accounting System, ensuring accurate data input for quoting.
  • Analytical Review: Conduct a thorough review of the monthly accounting close process to maintain accurate records.
  • Budgeting: Prepare budgets, conduct financial analysis, and forecast future financial performance.
  • Internal and External Reporting: Manage all financial reporting requirements, including audits and communications with banks and vendors.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in business processes to support organizational growth.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial information.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, to foster effective relationships.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with financial software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in accounting/finance roles with progressive responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
