As a Lead Cost Accountant at Coating and Converting Technologies, LLC, you will be an integral part of our finance department, working closely with our Corporate Controller. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of tasks, from cost accounting to payroll management, ensuring precise financial reporting and contributing to our sustained growth.

Key Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Experience in profit and loss analysis and a solid grasp of cost accounting fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and report on the financial results for the current month accurately.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor daily bank transactions, ensuring timely and accurate postings to the general ledger.
  • Oversee cash collections and disbursements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile it with production, shipping, and returns regularly.
  • Monthly analysis of potential excess and obsolete inventory items.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other operational accounting tasks.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of invoicing.
  • Maintain month-end schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage the fixed asset ledger and record monthly depreciation as necessary.
  • Review and maintain the benefits schedule and post monthly entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze financial data to identify significant or unusual activities.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory counts.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Adept at working independently, thinking critically, and proposing improvements to organizational processes.
